Job Description:
The Center for Student Enterprises and Entrepreneurship Development (SEED) is home to The Berry Student Enterprises and the Berry Entrepreneurship programs at Berry College. Berry seeks an energetic, innovative, and strategic leader who can collaborate across multiple campus constituencies, including students, staff, faculty, and alumni to serve as the SEED Director.
The enterprise program consists of 15 student-operated small businesses with the following goals:
- to create an environment where students can operate and oversee business ventures that create value for others and are sustainable over time;
- to develop enterprise strategies, so revenues cover operating and personnel expenses;
- to provide students with the opportunities for high-level leadership positions; and
- to develop transferable business, entrepreneurial, and life skills.
The entrepreneurship program includes two academics minors and three high-impact events across the academic year that are open to all students on campus from any major: The Social Impact Challenge, The Gadget Project, and the Pitch Competition. Each event is served by industry mentors and ends with a shark tank-like finale where the students compete for startup funds.
The director is expected to devise purposeful strategies to develop entrepreneurial activities and student-enterprise operations in conjunction with established advisory councils and other campus units.
