The Assignment:
Repairing, maintaining, and/or reconditioning machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, winders, extruders, and other manufacturing equipment including general facility using hand tools, power tools, precision-measuring and testing instruments, etc. by performing the following duties:
- Disassemble machinery and equipment and remove defective parts
- Locates / troubleshoots malfunction
- Inspects used part to determine changes in dimensional requirements
- Adjusts functional parts of device and control instruments
- Starts device to test performance
- Lubricates and cleans parts
- Troubleshoots/Repairs electrical circuitry problems (basic)
- Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as winders, grinders, extruders, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
Qualifications
What we are looking for (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities) -
- Working knowledge of extrusion equipment, winders, controllers (heat), air rings, gearboxes, bearings, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, rigging, etc.
- Functional knowledge of electrical repair/maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of single and 3-phase circuits.
- Knowledge of AC/DC motor drives and PLC controls (helpful).
- Capable of using calipers, gauges, micrometers, and related measuring instruments.
- Blueprint reading, schematics, and diagrams
- Comprehension and use of technical manuals, shop mathematics.
- Possess a thorough understanding between electrical and mechanical systems.
- Education - High school or equivalent (Required). Associates in Industrial Systems Tech or related course content preferred.
