Responsibilities:Areas of Responsibility
- Identify mold problems for manufactured parts and correct.
- Check accuracy of machinists’ work.
- Advise machinist in set-up.
- Responsible for seeing that all equipment is being used properly and is in good working order.
- Work independent of supervision.
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality Control and Production.
- Maintains all required logs and records.
- Lays out work and plans methods of operation working within close tolerance.
- Suggests modifications in specifications and troubleshoots to ensure efficient molding operations.
- Coordinates with vendors for outside work and follows-up with paperwork.
- Communicates and cooperates with other employees in a positive and constructive manner to achieve the goals of the department.
- Promotes safety by following all plant safety rules and reports violations and unsafe practices to the production supervisor.
- Promotes GMP policy and product safety. Participates in daily cleaning.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Qualification Requirements
Knowledge and experience in operation of all Tool Room machines such as: mills, lathes, tracers, grinders, machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments.- Basic shop mathematics including geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and sketches.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience in plastic processing in conjunction with tool making.
- Eight to ten years experience in making and designing molds.
- Maintain detail work hours on work orders by completing proper task designation.
- Must advise IBM Process Engineer on requirements of overtime and conflict in schedule.
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English directions/instructions.
- Basic math skills. Able to add subtract, divide, multiply, decimals and weight grams.
Able to work overtime on any shift on short notice
