The production supervisor is responsible for safely producing quality film as efficiently as possible to meet scheduling demands and commitments.
· Directs all production activities through the Production coordinators, as a member of the Plant Manager’s staff, coordinates interdepartmental activities with other department heads.
· Responsible to ensure that all aspects of department (people, operations and equipment) are safely utilized effectively to maximize productivity while minimizing cost and waste.
· Provide leadership, guidance and operational support to direct reports that includes 4 shift Coordinators and indirect reports (hourly production staff).
· Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs while ensuring production processes stay within budgets and target deadlines.
· Maintain key KPI's while monitoring the productivity of manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient production with minimal downtime.
· Consistently and efficiently adheres to quality and production standards and makes the necessary decisions to maintain high standard operational goals.
· Set productivity goals for each shift and assist with the development of workflow procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety and quality.
· Communicate regularly with Plant Manager regarding problems or issues impacting production.
Work directly with the scheduler to ensure efficient and timely scheduling and production jobs.
· Verify all information is included and accurate and in compliance with the work order. Scrutinized and resolves discrepancies.
· Responsible for verifying production, quality and quantity standards on all production lines.
· Ensure adequate manning and scheduling for efficient labor utilization to achieve production goals.
· Works with Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager on the installation of new equipment and newlines.
· Responsible for adhering to and executing the applicable Environmental Health & Safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for all employees according to Berry, local, state, and federal requirement-regulations.
· Ensure all safety and health standards are met to keep the production areas accident-free.
· Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience
· 3 years’ experience in preferably a plastics industry or manufacturing equivalent.
· 3 years previous Production Leadership experience
· Continuous Improvement / Lean Six Sigma experience and certifications a plus
· Demonstrated leadership core competencies.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
