Faculty: Upper School Academic Coach/English Teacher

This full-time, faculty position reports to the Academic Support Coordinator and provides academic support for students in grades 9 through 12.

Responsibilities include:

Working with students, parents, and tutors to ensure quality academic support of students as needed;

Creating student support plans and work with faculty to implement student support plans;

Collaborating with psychologists, school districts, tutors and specialists to gather information on student learning profiles;

Overseeing and implementing accommodations process with College Board, ERB, and other organizations;

Serving as a member of the school’s Wellness Team, attending regular meetings and helping to move the goals of Wellness forward on campus;

Teaching classes related to Study Skills or English Language Skills, as part of our Foundations curriculum to be determined.

Teaching classes in the English department to be determined.

Ideal candidates will possess demonstrated background working in academic support, experience with High School students, expertise implementing accommodations; strong written and oral communication skills, exemplary time management skills, and the ability to establish positive relationships with students and to collaborate with colleagues and families. Experience with ESL or with international students is a plus.
