Full Job Description
The Director of Human Resources ensures support and oversight of the HR duties for all employees.
The position is responsible for performing/overseeing all human resources functions, including, benefit management and administration, internal policy administration, workers' compensation, unemployment, and legal and regulatory compliance. The position will work closely with Leadership supporting and guiding them in the areas of employee relations, onboarding/orientation, retention and engagement. The Director of HR will ensure coordination of HR matters. People are our most important asset and you'll be the one to ensure we have a happy and productive workplace where everyone works to realize our established mission and objectives. Promoting corporate values and shaping a positive culture is a key component of an effective Director of HR.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
- Manage the recruitment and selection process
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization
- Nurture a positive working environment
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
- Maintain pay plan and benefits program
- Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
- Report to management and provide decision support
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
- Coordinates and manages the employee benefit administration (new hires, qualifying events, and open enrollment) including employee education and communicating, processing enrollments/terminations, tracking and reporting as needed
- Ensure the smooth transition from applicant to employee
- Maintains employee personnel and medical files in accordance with associated regulations
- Remains current on changing laws, labor trends and best practices, regulations, and company policy in order to communicate or recommend changes and ensure compliance
Qualifications/Skills
- 2-3 years of broad Human Resources work experience. Healthcare/Long term care or human services experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree required; Associates' degree with relevant experience level may be considered
- Proven working experience as HR Director
- People oriented and results driven
- Payroll experience
- Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
- Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 per year
