GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Sanitech is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all equipment in the compounding operation for a personal care manufacturing company working with liquids and powders.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform job duties successfully, they must be able to perform each essential task satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions. Essential job functions and duties include:
- Understand general operation of all equipment needed to be clean.
- Responsible for detail cleaning of processing equipment including, utensils, tanks,totes,pumps, hoses and mixers.
- Working knowledge about chemicals is a plus.
- Ability to disassemble and put back together pumps, mills, homogenizers, mixers.
- Used approved chemicals to clean and disinfect equipment.
- Maintain and clean equipment in good order per applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), Working Instructions (WI’s), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Operate in a team-based environment supporting entire department’s goals; communicate all information to assure efficient production.
- Able to read and fill out cleaning forms for equipment .
- Report potential issues to supervisor.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Transferring bulk when required.
- Move materials and transfer finished batches to specific areas for product manufacturing.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Perform manual and automated cleaning and sanitation procedures.
- Follow strictly company environmental policies and handle all cleaning and waste materials properly.
- Use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the task.
- Follow all safety rules.
- Any other responsibility as assigned by supervisory management.
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, education, and/or abilities required for the job:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in disassembling compounding equipment, cosmetic or personal care setting preferred.
- Ability to read, understand, document, and maintain records as required.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack and drum lifter.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. intermittently; heavier parts lifted using other methods.
SELECTION GUIDELINES
The appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position are achievable through the following combination of education, work experience, and training:
- High school education or equivalent.
- Experience in Compounding environment; preferably in cosmetics process manufacturing or an FDA regulated industry.
- Previous sanitech experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS
The essential functions of this job require the employee to perform the following physical activities during work.
- Compounding environment
- Wet environment
- Moderate to heavy traffic including forklifts
- Lighting is low to moderate
- Required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods during work shift.
- Routinely required to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, reach, pull, push, and tilt object in the performance of job function.
- Requires the essential use of hands, speech, eyesight, and hearing.
- Lifting limitations for this position: 25-50 lbs. May have to manipulate heavier containers.
- Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral and depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus as needed.
- Noise level for this work environment is typically low to moderate. Some work areas require hearing protection for an 8-hour work day.
- Periods of odoriferous environment.
- Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Personal Protective Equipment provided as necessary.
- Work environment may involve exposure to chemicals, solutions, detergents, or solvents that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of personal protective equipment.
- Work environment may involve exposure to allergens such as Soy, Wheat, Fish, Shell Fish, Milk, Egg, Tree nuts, and Sesame.
