Veterinarian - Associate Veterinarian

We are looking for an exceptional Veterinarian to join our family!

Best Friends is an AAHA certified & PRIVATELY owned veterinary practice. We support a healthy work culture and value each person on our team. Mentorship is a huge focus. We have a fully customized program with weekly meetings & a slow progression to more difficult cases, or for those with considerable experience, it can be just a way to review protocols. Our goal is to ensure you are comfortable & confident in your position!

We have an amazing team, great clients & an amazing facility. Our vet techs & CSR's are well-trained, with many techs being certified. AND they have a great sense of humor. We have a full-time practice manager who spends much of her time tending to the team. Our 7500 square foot modern facility - recently renovated - has 7 exam rooms (one feline only), a vet tech room, 2 comfort rooms, 2 dental stations, 2 surgery rooms, digital xray (and dental xray), in-house Idexx equipment, isolation, 3 staff restrooms, staff lockers, a spacious team room and more!

Veterinary hours: (we don't take after-hours calls or see emergencies.)

Monday & Friday 8a.m -5p.m

Tuesday-Thursday 8a.m-7p.m

Saturday= 8a.m - 12p.m

Appointments are 30 minutes long.

We are located in Southern IL., just 15 minutes east of St. Louis in Swansea, IL. It's a suburban area not far from Scott Air Force Base, with Chicago about 4 ½ hours to the north. With St. Louis so close, we can easily access Cardinal's & Blue's games, Forest Park, the renowned St. Louis Zoo, the Muny, Fox Theater, and more. Hiking & biking are readily available.

Veterinarian Requirements:

• Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree
• Interest in Exotics Ideal but Not Necessary
• New or Experienced
• No experience Required: We will also consider New grads & mentorship will be a priority!
• Detail-oriented -- quality and precision-focused
• People-oriented -- supportive and fairness-focused
• Team-oriented -- cooperative and collaborative

Hours per week:

• 20-33
• 34-36
