Role Description
BVH has a need for an attorney to join its Chicago office. Looking for 0-5 years of insurance defense and/or workers’ compensation defense experience.
The ideal candidate will want to handle a diverse caseload including insurance defense and/or workers’ compensation defense. The candidate should have exposure to all aspects of defending claims, including appearing in court, depositions, discovery, pre-trials and motions. The candidate must possess the ability to analyze and develop a strategy for the direction of a case in conjunction with the assigned partner and execute that game plan. Most importantly, the ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a desire to work toward autonomy and significant matter responsibility. This is an ideal position for a candidate who wants to hone and develop their skills in an environment that promotes growth and independence while also providing partner oversight and mentoring.
Qualifications
- Exposure to insurance defense and/or workers’ compensation defense
- Illinois law license is required
- Excellent legal research skills
- Effective negotiation skills with ability to think outside the box to foster resolution
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Experience representing clients in court and drafting legal documents
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize workloads
- Salary is commensurate with experience
