The Director of Finance will have a strategic role in shaping the financial operations of the skilled nursing facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversight of Billing/Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll departments. Provide leadership and direction to the teams to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Cash Management. Managing cash flow, optimizing liquidity, and overseeing treasury functions to maintain financial stability.
- Audits. Coordinating and managing financial audits, ensuring compliance and transparency.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives and identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Bank Reporting. Maintaining relationships with financial institutions and ensuring timely, accurate bank reporting.
- Revenue Cycle Management: Evaluating, developing and implementing strategies to enhance revenue cycle performance.
- Leading financial planning and analysis efforts to support informed decision-making, including financial forecasts, budgets, and analysis.
- Playing a critical role in the executive team, contributing to the overall strategic direction and decision-making.
- Participating in M&A activities, including due diligence, financial analysis, and integration efforts.
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, MBA preferred;
- Minimum of 7 years experience as a Finance Manager or Director in a skilled nursing facility.
- CPA Required
- Familiarity with Point Click Care preferred
- Knowledgeable of governmental accounting (budgeting, costing, taxation, etc.)
- Knowledgeable of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term care; knowledge of state and federal nursing home guidelines.
- Strong expertise in technical accounting, financial analysis, and strategic thinking.
- Familiarity with SNF payer sources.
- Outstanding communication (oral and written) skills
- Proficient and accurate with data entry and 10-key calculator
- Proficient usage of accounting software and Excel for report creation and spreadsheet updates
- Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Ability to manage critical deadlines, have keen attention to detail and must be able to work collaboratively across departments to ensure smooth office operations.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations; deal tactfully with personnel, residents and family members, visitors, government agencies and the public to achieve positive outcomes for residents, families and company goals.
