About the Job
Lead Advanced Practitioner Responsibilities
Facilitates Strategic Planning including, but not limited to:
Partnership with the Department Chair and Executive Director with goal of optimizing the contribution of the Department Advanced Practitioners to the Departmental Overall Goals
AP fellowship when applicable
AP research/QI projects
Other Departmental and/or hospital-wide project participation as determined with the Lead AP, Department Chair (and/or designee) and Executive Director
Personnel management in concert with the Department Chair or designee
Includes yearly evaluations of AP team (with Chair or designee when appropriate)
Interval evaluations of newly hired APPs and others as warranted
Be available to meet regularly with AP team members
Participates in hiring process including being main contact for reviewing CVs, facilitating interview scheduling and communicating with hirees throughout the credentialing process
Facilitates the Department level clinical and operational onboarding/training process of newly hired APs
Serves as a mentor for system and clinical development
Participate in corrective action process as needed
In concert with the Emergency Department results management team , oversees the APP training and involvement with the results management program
In conjunction with the Medical Director of Emergency Observation Care, develops and executes changes to protocols
Oversees and manages APP student rotations, encourages participation with teaching both during rotations and in lecture form at APP schools.
Schedule
Produces AP schedule when applicable
Keeps record of earned time usage by each AP and type allocated to sick time per Massachusetts law
Attends Department meetings as directed by the Department Chair
Facilitates continual education of AP team regarding appropriate billing and coding practices
Lead AP or designee takes sick calls and re-arranges staff for patient care coverage as necessary when applicable
Lead AP or designee coordinates NP/PA students and ensures compliance with Lahey policies regarding students
In concert with the OPPS coordinators conducts routine care surveys via chart audits

Experience
Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience demonstrating leadership capability
