Job Summary
The Graduate Assistant Men’s Volleyball Coach is a passionate individual who seeks to help student-athletes and the coaching staff for the program. This role requires a considerable amount of self-motivation, collaboration, communication, and the ability to positively influence our players on the men’s volleyball team while helping the coaching staff build the culture.
This position is a 2 year commitment with a stipend, meal plan, housing, and tuition-remission. There will also be game day travel, Bethany College men’s volleyball gear, and other items/trips that are included with the position.
The GA will report directly to Head Coach Chuck Shoemaker and Assistant Coach Brittany Arent, work closely with the student-athletes on the men’s volleyball team, and other faculty/staff on campus. They will need to have an understanding of and adhere to NCAA DIII, PAC, and men’s volleyball rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Skill development
- Practice planning
- Monitoring academic progress of student-athletes
- Fundraising
- Any other tasks that are assigned by the coaching staff
Job Requirements
A good candidate:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree
- Has to be accepted into the Master of Education in Teaching and Learning (M.Ed) graduate program at Bethany College - (learn more here: )
- Collegiate playing experience and previous coaching experience is preferred
- Available to work flexible hours: mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends
- Preferred start date in Summer 2024
- Friendly, outgoing, and has a warm personality
- Demonstrates a drive for results
- Good at managing time and schedules
- Must have a valid driver’s license
