- Competitive Compensation
- For full-time employees in their first year of employment, one hour of vacation time is earned for every 26 hours paid, with a maximum of 80 hours earned per year. For full-time employees after their first year of employment, one hour of vacation time is earned for every 13 hours paid, with a maximum of 160 hours earned per year.

- Answers telephone, screens and refers calls to appropriate parties. Deploys emergencies as appropriate. Delivers messages as needed.
- Greets clients and visitors, answers client questions regarding staff availability, location, scheduling, etc.
- Updates patient demographics and records changes in insurance as needed.
- Schedules intakes and regular client appointments; makes reminder calls to clients daily.
- Ensure patient liability is collected and posted during appointment check in.
- Ensures necessary paperwork is completed prior to appointments.
- Collaborates effectively with all staff and with individuals outside the agency.
- Provides backup coverage for the Intake Coordination, as needed.
- Works with billing staff to ensure CPCs are filled out as needed.
- Represents the agency in a professional manner.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and in-services.
- Remains flexible, accepts changes in work schedule and assignments.

Receptionist Job Requirements:
- Have the ability to fulfill all of the regulatory requirements for employees of a Community Mental Health Center in the State of Iowa or Illinois as required by state and federal law. This includes successful completion of the criminal background investigation, clearance from the Illinois CANTS when applicable, as well as the office of the inspector general exclusionary screening.
- Required Education
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Some post high school training and education preferred.
- Experience and Skills
- One or more year’s office experience, or basic business training required. Experience in a medical office or in the mental health field desirable.
- Proficiency in answering multiple phone lines.
- Ability to organize and be flexible in work assignments and priorities, seeking resources needed and handling a variety of activities/workflow.
- Computer proficiency.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Ability to work cooperatively with staff and other service providers, and interface effectively, sensitively with clients/families.
- Highly professional presentation and manner.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under stress.
- Move about within the office/work setting.
- Use a computer and other office equipment.
