Description
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the home administrator, plans and directs activities to solicit and maintain financial contributions and funds to support Bethany Home and conducts marketing programs.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Creates and manages a comprehensive fund development program of individual and faith-based donors observing guidelines outlined by the organization’s mission statement, regulatory agencies, and other funding sources. Facets may include researching donors, special events, foundation support, honoraria, annual, memorial and planned giving.
- Identifies and cultivates current and prospective donors. Schedules appointments and meet prospective residents, their families, and other potential donors. Establishes and maintains a donor database system for effective management of gifts, record keeping, and direct mail solicitations.
- Develops a recognition program for donors at all levels.
- Creates, maintains, and analyzes all direct mail solicitations. Develops and maintains a comprehensive planned giving program to assist donors with their estate planning needs. Engages training opportunities to maintain knowledge of development techniques and strategies.
- Formulates fundraising goals and objectives to ensure sound practices and attainment of financial goals. Prepares reports of activities and goals as required.
- Enhances public relations and nurtures relationships with the Church family and community to promote organization awareness and interest. Designs and presents information for public presentations.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with other management staff, employees, residents, and the general public.
- Operates a variety of office machines and equipment to accomplish job tasks. Equipment may include telephone, personal computer, typewriter, copier, or facsimile machine.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Undergraduate degree preferred in general business, business administration, or marketing. Related experience in fund raising and development preferred.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of community resources and needs; knowledge of sales and marketing; knowledge of investing, estate planning, taxes and charitable giving; ability to answer inquiries and relate to general public and prospective residents; ability to handle confidential donor and resident information; ability to work with people including staff, residents, families, and community.
