Position Summary
The Director, Engagement & Communication will manage the College's student recruitment communication efforts to increase yield and engagement to meet College enrollment goals. The Director will direct the LAS recruitment communication campaigns, including email, text, direct mail, presentations, and analyze strategies to continually enhance effectiveness. Additionally, in support of increasing first-year student retention, the Director, Engagement & Communication will also manage LAS's first-year seminar LAS 110: Experience UIC, including LAS 110 curriculum development, instructor training and supervision, and evaluation and assessment

Duties & Responsibilities
  • The Director, Engagement & Communication implements recruitment and yield programming for prospective students and recently admitted students across the array of LAS undergraduate academic programs that span the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, interdisciplinary programs, and pre-professional preparation areas._x000d_ _x000d_
  • The Director will manage LAS Recruitment communication strategies to increase enrollment yield and engagement. Develop targeted email, text, and direct mail campaigns and measure their effectiveness and success to help LAS enrollment yield campaigns. Meet with prospective and admitted students and families, provide insight about life as a Liberal Arts and Science student via in-person appointments, phone, email, social media
  • Design high-quality LAS Recruitment presentations to be delivered in-person such as UIC Open House, Ignite: UIC Admitted Student Day, Preview Days, and virtual experiences LAS hosts on Discover UIC and UIC Bound admitted student sites
  • Collaborate with the LAS Director, Marketing & Communication and Marketing and Communication staff, and the Director, Marketing & Communication in UIC Strategic Enrollment Management to enhance LAS Recruitment communication strategies and efforts_x000d_ _x000d_ _x000d_
  • Design and manage the LAS 110: Experience UIC first-year seminar curriculum to support student success and retention in the first-year Manage LAS 110 evaluation and assessment efforts including surveys, focus groups, and report findings to College leadership Write, edit and design LAS 110 annual reports, LAS 110 weekly email newsletters, and LAS 110 website
  • Design and manage pre-term and weekly ongoing LAS 110 instructor training and professional development. Supervise LAS 110 instructors, including graduate Teaching Assistants and Academic Professional staffs
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
