FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Starting Wage: $16.58/Hr

Shift Assignment: Variable

Position Overview: As a Dietary Aide in a Skilled Nursing Facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the nutritional needs of our residents are met. You will work closely with the dietary team to provide high-quality food services that support the health and well-being of our residents. This position requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Meal Preparation and Service:
• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to prescribed diets and portion sizes.
• Ensure that meals are served at the appropriate temperature and consistency.
• Follow established procedures for food safety and sanitation to prevent foodborne illnesses.
• Dietary Support:
• Collaborate with the dietary team to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions of residents.
• Monitor food intake and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate staff members.
• Assist in the setup and cleanup of dining areas before and after meal times.
• Inventory Management:
• Assist in the receiving, storage, and rotation of food and supplies.
• Keep accurate records of inventory levels and report any shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Maintain a neat and organized storage area to ensure efficient workflow.
• Customer Service:
• Provide friendly and courteous service to residents and their families during meal times.
• Respond promptly to resident requests and address any concerns or complaints in a professional manner.
• Foster a positive dining experience by creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
• Compliance and Documentation:
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations governing food safety and sanitation.
• Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including meal counts and temperature logs.
• Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to stay informed about changes in policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in food service or healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects as needed.
• Willingness to undergo background checks as required by the facility.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: From $16.58 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 29 per week
