Job Title: Dietary Aide

Position Overview: As a Dietary Aide in a Skilled Nursing Facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the nutritional needs of our residents are met. You will work closely with the dietary team to provide high-quality food services that support the health and well-being of our residents. This position requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Meal Preparation and Service:
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to prescribed diets and portion sizes.
- Ensure that meals are served at the appropriate temperature and consistency.
- Follow established procedures for food safety and sanitation to prevent foodborne illnesses.
- Dietary Support:
- Collaborate with the dietary team to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions of residents.
- Monitor food intake and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate staff members.
- Assist in the setup and cleanup of dining areas before and after meal times.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in the receiving, storage, and rotation of food and supplies.
- Keep accurate records of inventory levels and report any shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Maintain a neat and organized storage area to ensure efficient workflow.
- Customer Service:
- Provide friendly and courteous service to residents and their families during meal times.
- Respond promptly to resident requests and address any concerns or complaints in a professional manner.
- Foster a positive dining experience by creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations governing food safety and sanitation.
- Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including meal counts and temperature logs.
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to stay informed about changes in policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in food service or healthcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and safe food handling practices.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects as needed.
- Willingness to undergo background checks as required by the facility.
