Educators must be fully and appropriately licensed by Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) to be eligible for this incentive. Restricted license holders will not be eligible.

  • $1,000 bonus after 30 days of work
  • $500 in December paycheck
  • $500 in March paycheck
  • $1,000 in June at the conclusion of the school year

Bethel School District is seeking candidates for a 1.0 FTE Teacher on Special Assignment – Special Education Consultant.

 

Candidates who are licensed or will have the ability to be licensed by Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission by the start of the 2024-25 School Year are encouraged to apply.

Salary Range: $46,048 to $ 92,927 (depending on experience, and education)

Contract Days: 192

  • Robust mentoring from a veteran teacher (staff new to the teaching profession or 1 - 2 years out of a teacher education program)

  • Week-long New Teacher Academy prior to inservice week

  • Professional Development in the science of reading including word recognition and language comprehension strategies, explicit small group instruction, culturally responsive instructional practices, RTII and MTSS process and data analysis, equity and trauma informed practices, and professional learning communities

Selection Factors

  • Knowledge of educational programs offered in all schools and of basic educational techniques, as required by the position.
  • Knowledge of the basic developmental stages of a child's learning process.
  • Ability to schedule the workload, manage time and meet the needs of students, the school or a program.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work with small groups and individual students.
  • Ability to prepare materials for lesson plans and adapt, as needed, to meet the needs of students.
  • Ability to interact positively with children and adults, and observe individual student abilities.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, administrators, parents and co-workers.
  • Ability to safely and proficiently operate standard office and audio-visual equipment, as required by the position.
  • Ability to maintain an appropriate and legal level of confidentiality regarding students, staff, and other individuals.
  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable and prompt attendance.

 Minimum qualifications: 

  • Possess an Oregon Teaching License valid for assignment by start of the school year
  • Ability to implement Culturally Proficient skills and strategies 
  • Successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks
