The Director of Business Development is responsible for the leadership, strategic vision, sales, and marketing direction for Bethesda Healthcare Services division’s current business and future endeavors. Working with the Senior Vice President of the Healthcare division, the Executive team and individual communities, the Director of Business Development will manage internal sales teams and meet annual census targets. Optimizes opportunities to ensure that all programs are effectively marketed across all Bethesda service lines. Evaluates the effectiveness of current sales programs and initiatives, and seeks to continuously improve methods and outcomes. Conducts internal communications to ensure that all staff members are aware of marketing programs and their role in helping to optimize results. Train and educate team members on admissions and referral development strategies. Builds relationships and effectiveness across the admissions and referral teams. Promotes team satisfaction, motivation, success, and individual staff development. Helps build a team that consistently and constantly delivers excellence and celebrates successes. Supervises certain admissions, specialists and referral team members. Provide coaching, mentoring and training opportunities for the professional development of department staff.

Job Qualifications

• Education and Training/Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Health Administration or related field.
  • 2 year’s experience in a medical setting, senior housing and/or marketing.
• Skills and Abilities
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Minimum typing skills of 30 wpm.

• Knowledge of computers and data entry/word processing skills.

• Must be able to manage a variety of tasks and have a good understanding of customer service.

• Ability to complete day-to-day office management functions and manage employees assigned to the office.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills.

• Must be very well organized and able to work in a fast paced environment, where multiple tasks or activities are occurring simultaneously.
