Job Title: Assistant Professor, Master’s in Counseling
Reporting Structure: Department Chair, Master’s in Counseling
Division: College of Nursing & Health Sciences
Job Summary: The responsibility of the Assistant Professor in the Master’s of Counseling Program is to demonstrate high ability as a professor. This includes, but is not limited to, providing instruction, and advising to students.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and design of courses and curriculum in their departments.
- Provide instruction for students.
- Advise and counsel students.
- Keep class records, attendance, and submit grade reports.
- Attend faculty and other required meetings.
- Serve on committees of the University upon election or appointment.
- Attend academic convocation, consecration, commencement ceremonies and other contractual events.
- Perform such administrative duties as may be specifically designated in annual or special contracts.
- Engage in research, scholarly and/or creative works.
- Engage in service to the discipline and the University.
- Provide for course-level evaluation.
- Provide assessment data to the department chair.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge and experience with the CACREP Accreditation process
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
Doctorate Degree in Counselor Education or related field
Education and Experience:
Unencumbered license to practice as a Mental Health Counselor, or license eligible, in the State of Florida
Bachelor’s Degree
Master’s Degree
Doctorate in a Related Field
5 years teaching experience at the graduate level
Knowledge of Accreditation
