Better Being is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to maintain systematic, accurate, and timely processing of all accounts payable including, but not limited to, vendor invoicing, vendor payment, pre-payment requests, and vendor files. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of AP experience and is knowledgeable with Excel and ERP Systems. The Accounts Payable Clerk will report to the AP Supervisor.
Essential Functions
- Maintains systematic, accurate, and timely processing of all accounts payable including, but not limited to, vendor invoicing, vendor payment, pre-payment requests, and vendor files.
- Identifies and investigates any issues with provider bills and obtains mutual resolution of discrepancies.
- Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and corporate accounts payable files.
- Reconciles vendor accounts in ERP system ensuring accurate and timely ending month balance.
- Contribute to maintain good relationships with suppliers.
- Understand the department process flow and look for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
- Obtains approval on all vendor bills according to company policy and ensures timely payment of all vendor bills.
- Analyzes data, processes, and procedures currently in place, and organizes within systems already in place.
- Assist with weekly payment run.
- Reports any unresolved disputes with vendors to management for resolution.
- Prepares and ensures accurate timely completion of month end, quarterly and year end reporting requirements.
- Ensures the confidentiality and security of all financial files.
- Performs a variety of clerical duties including, but not limited to, answering telephone inquiries, taking messages, filing, scanning, and photocopying.
- Review and submit payable details in accounting system, ensuring overhead expenses are accurately and timely recorded.

- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or associate degree.
- 3 years of detailed accounts payable experience is a must.
- Skilled with computer usage - Microsoft Excel, Internet, software programs and ERP system.
- Knowledge of general ledger accounts and balances and reconciles vendors accounts.
- Ability to handle high volume of work efficiently.
- Type 55 wpm and 10-key by touch.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- General knowledge of accounting principles (debit and credit).
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English language is required.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and talk or hear.
- The employee must exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
