Release of Information Clerks are critical positions in many medical organizations since they handle patient medical records, charts, and more that contain sensitive information. Clerks are responsible for reviewing, validating, processing, and fulfilling medical record requests, all while following HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

Skills needed for such a position are as follows:

  • Time management
  • Multitasking
  • Knowledge of or willing to learn HIPAA Processes
  • Knowledge of or willing to learn Electronic Health Record (EHR) programs
  • Scanning
  • Uploading
  • Copying/ exporting
  • Attention to Detail

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Benefits:

  • Paid time off

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Medical records: 1 year (Preferred)
