Assistant Manager

The Oleta River Outdoor Center, part of the BG Signature Parks family, is looking for a self-driven, energetic Assistant Manager to join our phenomenal team. The position starts at $18.00 an hour plus tips**. We are located inside Oleta River State Park in North Miami Beach.

Our ideal candidate is personable, ambitious and reliable. Takes initiative at the tasks at hand, and has great customer service skills. Experience in paddle sports is a plus, but not needed. Must have at least one year experience in management.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

General Operations

• Oversee facility operations under Operations Manager’s guidance
• Oversee Retail department 
• Hands on cashiering, rentals and tours department when needed 
• Ensure business quality standards are met
• Ensure all areas of operation are up to par with sanitation and safety supplies
• Submit all reports in a complete and timely fashion
• Oversee all departments including tours and private vendors. 

Human Resources

• Hold the team accountable for their performance; provide coaching and counseling as needed
• Develop and implement best practices to maximize team efficiencies
• Ensure staff is up to date with any new rules and regulations provided to us by the BG Signature and the DEP (Department of Environmental Protection).
• Schedule and conduct interviews for possible new hires

Accounting

• Staff and schedule appropriately to control labor costs
• Ensure Manager on Duty (“MOD”) reports are done daily
• Aids Operations Managers with the following duties that include but are not limited to: bank deposits, monthly safe counts, Accounts Payable reports etc.
• Ensure all special event or tour deposits are made in a timely and accurate manner

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Management Experience (1 Year Minimum)
• AA Degree Minimum or equivalent education 
• Proficient in mathematical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft programs 
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to listen & communicate effectively 
• Ability to work well under pressure 
• Be a team player
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements 
• Must be self-motivated 
• Must have reliable transportation 
• Exhibit a positive friendly and helpful attitude to our guests and crew members 
• Must be able to work in the USA with proof of documentation
• Experience in Parks & Recreation is a plus *
• Bilingual is a plus*
• Must be CPR/ First Aid certified*
