Description
The Sr. Engineering Technician in Development Services performs detailing activities on assigned projects and adheres to schedule and accuracy requirements. This role works closely with Project Engineers and Project Managers and assists Engineering Technicians.

Essential Functions
- Works within a project design team to understand clients, project objectives and be a productive member of that team, offering suggestions for improvement, meeting deadlines, and performing quality work
- Sets up file structures to produce CAD drawings in accordance with client or BHC standards
- Interprets field red marks and engineer or designer sketches and understand design intentions behind them at an advanced level
- Produces advanced CAD work in AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation from designer mark ups that is accurate and properly laid out (correct scales, good use of the drawing spaces, good proportion between details, etc.) - such work would include planimetrics, details, profiles, isometrics, perspectives, base maps, annotated text boxes, etc.
- Produces advanced project base drawings from survey field topographic data
- Has advanced abilities with roadway corridors using Civil 3D, pipe networks from engineers hydrology calculations, and manipulating existing Civil 3D styles to match clients needs
- Produces spreadsheets for data management and importing into the CAD files
- Uses knowledge to work mostly independently, seeking help/answers to questions from project supervisor when necessary
- Shows continued and progressive professional development inside and outside of BHC
- Demonstrates a client focus and works to help our clients be successful
- May occasionally interact with clients, focused on maintaining good client relations
Qualifications
Experience
- 3 years of industry related experience required
- CAD certification preferred
- Strong understanding of construction systems and techniques and industry standards
Skills
- Ability to produce error free drawings without sacrificing production volume
- Excellent communication skills, team player, detail oriented, motivated
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office knowledge
- Ability to manage a fair workload by staying focused and managing priorities
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or 2-year technical degree preferred
- Proficiency in algebra and trigonometry preferred
