Job Description: Weekly Hours: 40 Shift: 2nd Shift Status: Full Time Job Summary: Provides a variety of cleaning duties such as, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, etc. to support the team and in achieving the department’s goals and objectives by daily cleaning assigned area according to approved procedures for that area. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time. 1. Cleans office areas, lounges, restrooms, public areas, exam rooms, treatment rooms, etc., daily and in a timely manner according to established guidelines. 2. Cleans discharged patient rooms as assigned in a timely manner according to established guideline. 3. Cleans ancillary areas in assigned areas daily following established guidelines. 4. Stocks supplies such as: soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc in assigned area. 5. Uses cleaning chemicals appropriately and with proper dilution ratio. 6. Reports to the appropriate nurse personnel: patient complaints, unusual behavior, incidents, requests, equipment/safety problems, and/or concerns expressed by family members or visitors. 7. Removes waste and soiled linen in a safe and effective manner to designated area following established guidelines. 8. Utilizes the Bed Tracking System by logging in/out of work and when cleaning discharge patient rooms following established procedures. 9. Reports any unsafe conditions and repairs needed in assigned area. 10. Keeps janitor closet and cleaning cart in a neat and organized manner. 11. Utilizes pager according to established guidelines. Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required: 1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 2. Demonstrates oral communication skills required to interact effectively with patients and staff. 3. Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary to promote and maintain cooperative and courteous relationships with team members, patients, visitors, doctors and others. 4.
