Job Description: Baptist Health is looking for a Manager, Pharmacy Contracts to join our team at the new Central Pharmacy in the Louisville, KY area. Demonstrates commitment to the quality, philosophy, and values of Baptist Health by maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures, organizational objectives, process improvement, and safety standards. Upholds standards of pharmacy services with the overall vision for the organization. Leads initiatives with clinical/non-clinical committees to standardize suppliers, product utilization and contracting. Collaborates with colleagues of local systems, system office departments, and other pharmacy management work units to identify, analyze, decide, and implement leading practices and expense management initiatives. Provides a shared contracting service process that: Determines specifications Identifies sources Integrates the contracting process Ensures institutional policy (e.g. signatory authority) Optimizes group purchasing, supplier relationships and technology Ensures contract compliance Procures Manages the number of suppliers Resolves payment issues Ensures adherence to policies and procedures, in conjunction with legal, for all contracting except human capital and reimbursement agreements. Ensures a robust contract tracking process for pharmacy services performance. Ensures a plan to increase contract percentage on all products ordered. Manages and conducts contract negotiations with vendors. Identifies and communicates clinical product standards with considerations for products/assets, costs and reimbursement issues, and regulatory requirements in clinical groups and research activities. Develops clinical product/asset selection in collaboration with administrative, clinical and physician leadership. Use data to drive decisions and performance improvement strategies related to product use and selection. Research, propose and assist in the evaluation and implementation of new products, supplies, or equipment to improve patient care outcomes and reduce costs. Work collaboratively with other Supply Chain staff, clinicians, physicians and other healthcare team members to effect optimal contract compliance; leverage external resources as appropriate. Maintains knowledge of contract law, uniform commercial code regulations and other regulatory agency requirements (e.g. FDA). Develops and maintains professional working relationships; utilizes networking and teambuilding skills to accomplish goals and meet customer and team needs. Responsible for participating in the preparation of the operation and capital budget for supply chain. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree (Business, Supply Chain or Finance concentration preferred) or 7 years’ experience in contracting required. Minimum 3 years’ experience in contracting required with degree; experience in healthcare preferred. Management experience preferred.
