Job Description: ** Sign on bonus available $$ Part time 24 weekly hours, first shift, benefit eligible About the Unit: The Vascular-Thoracic unit, also known as 5 East or VTU, is a highly specialized 23 bed unit that provides high acuity care to intensive patients who are post vascular and thoracic surgery. Nurses typically care for patient who have had carotid surgery, lower extremity bypass, aneurysm repairs, arterial-lines, AKOS, and chest tubes. New Graduate Nurses welcome. Job Duties: The Vascular Thoracic nurse assesses and identifies patient needs and implements appropriate interventions. The Nurse establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently. Vascular Thoracic nurses must have strong critical thinking skills. The nurse acts as a family and patient resource to guide them through all stages of the patient’s healthcare journey.
