The Licensed Vocational Nurse provides a variety of patient care activities to patients of all age groups, implementing measures to promote a safe environment for patients and others. Maintains awareness of current developments, evidence based practice and trends in nursing research with a focus on the specific patient population in which they are employed.
Essential Job Duties

Provides an appropriate clinic environment for patient care by maintaining the patient area in an orderly manner and maintaining neatness of the work environment.

Performs and assist providers with patient care activities which includes but not limited to:Vital signs, administering injections, phlebotomy, minor procedures and patient education.

Responsible for ordering all medical supplies needed for assigned clinic..

Interacts with physician practices, pharmacies, drug reps, third party payers and other departments.

Maintains required documentation of patient care and clinic activities in accordance with standards.

Ensures nursing skills are performed effectively according to established standards of care.
Required Education and Experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
No experience required
Required License/Certifications
Current LVN license in the State of Texas
BLS Certification
Unit specific competencies obtained within six months of hire
