Overview
The Shop mechanic will be responsible for the safe repair and diagnosis of various pieces of heavy equipment ranging from large cranes to mini excavators with some light automotive work. The successful candidate will primarily work in a shop setting with some travel required.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment
- Travel to jobsites as needed to preform equipment repairs
- Examine machines and preform diagnostic tests to determine functionality issues
- Complete 101 inspections, work orders, and maintenance records
- Monitor inventory and order parts as necessary
- Preform DOT annual inspections in accordance with FMSCA guidelines
- Ability to work on various makes and models of heavy equipment
- Works well with others in a team environment
- Welding and fabrication
- Preform preventive maintenance on trucks, trailers, and equipment
- Help maintain equipment inventory and recordkeeping to show location and condition of all equipment.
- Perform on site equipment maintenance at field construction projects on an as needed basis.
- Other duties as required to support the business.
Qualifications
- 3 – 5 years’ experience as a mechanic required.
- Certification from a vocational or trade school preferred.
- Class “A” CDL License preferred
- Competent use of computer aided diagnostic software
- Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components.
- Aptitude in using various hand tools and precision measurement tools.
- Ability to follow established procedures and practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Problem solving ability.
- Other duties as required to support the business.
