QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of ten years experience working in clinical and/or school settings with children and or adolescents from multi-stressed families with complex clinical profiles.
Doctoral Degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology or School Psychology required.
Excellent communication skills required with consultation experience.
Extensive experience working with complex family systems, facilitating difficult conversations with both families and school-based teams to clarify student’s diagnostic profiles to inform intervention planning and programming.
Working knowledge and familiarity with pharmacological interventions to support mental health and neurological student needs.
Collaborative and compassionate professional who connects well with vulnerable and high-risk families and students.
Experience conducting comprehensive clinical, neuropsychological, risk, and threat assessments is preferred.
This position requires travel throughout the local area, therefore, candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The appropriate candidate will work as a consultant to numerous school programs within the Bi-County Collaborative. The school programs consist of elementary, middle, and high school students referred from local public school districts due to their need for more restrictive programming. Common challenges for our students include depression, anxiety, mood disorders, autism, ADHD, trauma, and learning disabilities. The candidate will join members of the leadership team to provide consultation to school personnel and families and, on occasion, work directly with students. They will serve as the primary facilitator for clinical conversations with families and school-based teams, often conducting extensive clinical interviews with families to help the overall system better understand the complex needs of the student and barriers for learning. They will also collaborate with community-based professionals when requested by the family or school-based team members.
The clinical support team within Bi-County Collaborative currently includes doctoral-level psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, regular consultation from a child and adolescent psychiatrist, school adjustment counselors, BCBAs, and numerous special educators and support staff. The successful candidate will become an integral part of this clinical team.
