The Role |
Transit Asset Research Analyst position is responsible for fulfilling research objectives devoted to improving state of good repair. This position is responsible for providing insightful data-driven analyses and program support that facilitate decision making for leadership, stakeholders and community partners. Primary focus on capital projects analysis and capital budgets. |
Responsibilities |
- Supports in the management of the TAM Plan, including strategic policies, action plans, and guidance to the agency.
- Management of day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of asset management.
- Works with maintenance divisions to monitor asset maintenance costs to help identify issues and negative trends.
- Maintains and distributes Metro’s weekly On-Call Schedules for all Metro Operations.
- Manages key performance indicators to monitor the asset management program.
- Assist with documentation for Accounts Receivable functions for outside revenue collected from contractors, film crews, Loop Trolley, etc.
- Generates Cost Center Reports and provides analyses by month and year to date status.
- Request establishment of “A” Projects (Non-Capital) through Engineering to track hours in Kronos spent on projects, special events and incidents.
- Updates Planned Objects and Milestones (POAM) on all Capital Projects. Provides analyses on project timelines and budgets.
- Provide a high level of customer service to all department
- Required to provide issue resolution within 1 business day to customers of EAM and M5
- Processing of invoicing and receipting
- Produces a number of typed statistical and narrative reports using spreadsheets and word processing; reviews typed materials for accuracy of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting and makes corrections
- Collects, organizes, records and verifies accuracy of data and information for reports; monitors and maintains records of financial activity
- Receives, screens calls and visitors
- Establishes and maintains manual and/or automated financial, accounting, personnel and other administrative files and records
- Processes warranty claims
- Composes reports and correspondence in accordance with company and departmental SOP
- Maintains appointment calendar for Assist Exec Dir Transit Assets and Transit Assets leadership
- Processes travel documents and makes reservations as needed
- Communicates with the general public, agency employees, officials, and representatives of other organizations concerning activities, schedules and procedures
- Monitors and adjusts workflow and production to meet deadlines
- Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities |
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and other MS products
- Working knowledge of Crystal Reports, SQL, Kronos, Oracle, HTML, and FMS is highly recommended but will train
- Ability to quickly learn a variety of computer and word processing products
- Comprehensive knowledge of clerical work
- Ability to organize projects and work independently
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to understand and implement procedures
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
