Bickford Health Care Center a small community, not for profit nursing home is looking for a full time Housekeeper/Laundry Aide to join our team for full time days and every other weekends.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Some laundry/housekeeping experience helpful.
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
- Knowledge of laundry procedures, practices, safety regulations and guidelines.
- Good organizational skills.
- Courtesy and cooperation in dealing with residents, and staff.
- Must be able to perform job functions without direct supervision.
- Keep daily documentation of work performed.
- Ability to be on feet for extended periods.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs cleaning of assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods:
- Follows proper laundry standards for soiled linens from dietary, health center, massage therapy and beauty salon.
- Pick-up, sort weigh, record and launder linens and laundry for distribution to designated locations.
- Follows Universal Precautions while performing daily work assignments. This is especially critical when handling certain contaminated laundry.
- Properly operates laundry equipment (washers, dryers & Ironer) practicing good safety.
- Checks linen closets twice daily to ensure proper linen inventory levels are maintained.
- Completes daily checklist in accordance to scheduled shift responsibilities.
- Maintains immediate working areas in a sanitary and orderly fashion.
- Supports the philosophy and mission of the facility.
- Maintains neat appearance and courteous manner.
- Wash, Dry, Hang & Deliver Personal clothing to the Residents rooms.
