Essential ActivitiesPerform excellent customer service activities throughout shift. Greets customers as they enter store and promptly responds to all inquiries or questions. Suggests items to customers to extend customer service and increase sales. Work as a team member to meet or exceed standards of Big 10 Five Fundamental evaluation Authorizes gas and diesel pumps for customers. Performs various types of transactions on register and makes cash drops in safe when needed. Keeps fresh food available in store by making popcorn, coffee, hotdogs and filling ice machine regularly. Assists food court employees when needed if applicable. Maintains stocked and organized coolers to aid in increasing inside sales. Maintains displayed stock of napkins, cups, lids, and condiments for customers. Follows company policy regarding checking identification for tobacco and alcohol products when necessary. Observes gas console and pumps to identify & address problems and avoid theft. Protects company assets by monitoring store traffic and eliminating risk of theft, vandalism, and employee dishonesty. Completes end of shift report and shift change. Prepares following shift’s drawer for register. Helps train new employees when necessary. Assists other employees when needed. Performs stocking, facing, and inventory activities when necessary. Keeps cooler and store shelves stocked. Rotates new and current product on shelves and in cooler. Fills washer solvent and towels at island when necessary. Maintains working stock of tobacco products and restocks as necessary. Performs cleaning activities within the store and outside on lot as necessary. Maintains a clean work area at and behind register counter. Cleans store equipment when time is available. Cleans outside and inside of food cases and equipment. Drains pop and juice bins and refill with new ice and beverages. Keeps traffic area clean inside and outside the store throughout the shift. Takes out crates and garbage at end of work shift. Performs sales and redemption of lottery and scratch tickets. Maintains stock of lottery and scratch tickets and track amounts of tickets sold and amount redeemed from register drawer. Matches figures of amount redeemed and tickets sold with end of shift tape. Keeps lottery money separate from register money and performs frequent drops from lottery drawer. Make 20lbs. ice bags.
