What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Project Manager position at Big Bend Hospice?
Big Bend Hospice has an immediate opening for an experienced Associate Project Manager (APM).
The APM will be responsible for planning and managing multiple small and medium sized projects from initiation to implementation; leading cross-functional teams and works with project team members to determine and translate business requirements into project plans and solutions; and managing project deliverables, identifying and reporting risks and issues to ensure that maximum benefit is maintained as well as provision of regular status updates.
Duties include:
- Works with project team members to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects
- Gathers estimates, compiles data and tracks expenses associated with project.
- Accountable for ensuring appropriate/optimal engagement of delivery resources.
- Responsible for eliciting, documenting, analyzing, validating, specifying, verifying and managing project requirements throughout the lifecycle of assigned projects.
- Develops and assembles basic project plans, and ensures that the scope and approach are fully understood by all stakeholders and ensures all systems of record for project reporting are kept current, and directs and monitors work effort on a regular basis
- Reviews development estimates from development teams and actively seeks clarifications/verification as appropriate
- Identifies and tracks key project milestones
- Documents and analyzes how work is conducted with current and future state workflows and Start, Stop, Continues
- Works with project team members to test functionality and to validate desired future states.
- Monitors and communicates the progress of project delivery and ensures timely and effective communication of project status in terms of schedule and assessment of risk/issues
- Manages resources in an effective and efficient manner
- Proactively anticipates project risks and issues and ensures adequate mitigation is in place to ensure project delivery in not compromised
- Ensures proper Change Control procedures and processes are efficiently used to maintain control of scope, and schedule
- Motivates and supervises project team members; influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Utilize industry best practice, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution
The ideal candidate will have prior hands-on project management experience, excellent organizational and time management skills, and excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills. The APM must be able to communicate effectively with project team members across multiple functional areas and provide clear and concise guidance.
Position requires a bachelor's degree in Project Management or related field and three years of relevant experience.
