To be successful in this role
You must be detail-oriented, organized, and very familiar with healthcare and medical terminology. Enrollment and Credentialing are crucial to the revenue cycle and the lifeline of any health organization. You will be required to do a lot of research, good at documenting and following up with providers and payers. You will also need to understand the laws and regulations about credentialing in general.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with staff, physicians, and external vendors.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Your Main Duties and Responsibilities
(Includes but, not limited to)
- Collaborate with management to plan and track group and individual provider credentialing.
- Connect with providers to gather needed information and facilitate the completion of credentialing.
- Monitor and track credentials and licensure.
- Prepare and submit credentialing and revalidate providers and groups with government and contracted payers.
- Work with the internal billing team to share approvals and work through denials and appeal processes.
- Follow up with payers to ensure timely application processing/provider enrollment. *
- Maintain contact logs documenting requests for credentialing information in designated systems.
- Meet or exceed all deadline requirements for provider communications, enrollments, and follow-ups.
- Report to management any unresolved issues or missing information that is creating a delay in processing.
Schedule: 8 am to 5 pm Monday – Friday
Required Skills and Education:
- Minimum of 2 years of credentialing/re-credentialing healthcare providers and facilities in accordance with guidelines of the National Committee for Quality Assurance and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
- Experience in Managed Care Health plans is strongly preferred.
- Skilled computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Skilled in professional verbal, written, and email communications.
