What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Coordinator position at Big Boy Restaurants?
Job Summary:
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Material Coordinator to ensure effective and efficient supply of raw and packaging materials to support Big Boy Food Group’s daily plant operations. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to; shipping & receiving duties, coordination and tracking of activities associated with all materials used at Big Boy Food Group’s Commissary; including ingredients, packaging, MRO, in process material, and finished goods. The Material Coordinator will also lead efforts to organize and manage inventory. The Material Coordinator should be an analytically minded self-starter and possess strong organizational skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the technical day to day activities around tracking and monitoring movement of all materials required at BBFG production plant
- Maintain accurate data in MS Dynamics BC 365 and/or other related business systems
- Troubleshooting inventory discrepancies, understanding transactions in database and root cause analysis
- Keep up to date with systems changes and training requirements related to job duties
- Works cross functionally with all departments at BBFG
- Maintain open communication with BBFG plant operations and supply chain management teams
- Verify receipt data entry from Receivers and monitor FIFO of raw materials throughout the plant
- Perform shipping and receiving activities as needed including unloading and put away of goods
- Run reports to determine which material needs to be prioritized.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform cycle counts as required.
- May assist in training of Receivers on receiving into BC 365 and other databases, as required
- Participate in special projects, providing guidance and expertise as needed on cross-functional teams.
