Sales Associate

Big Island Motorcycle Company is looking for a personable, hard working part-time Sales Associate to join us in our Waikoloa storefront (we’re located within the Kings’ Shops). We’ve been around since 2012, but have recently changed owners and are looking to take our business to the next level.

Responsibilities & Duties

As a part-time Sales Associate, you will be working at our Waikoloa storefront assisting customers with their rentals, helping to upkeep the shop and our supply of rental vehicles and equipment, as well as various related tasks. Please see below for more details:

• Greeting and welcoming customers;

• Explaining our offerings and helping people complete their rentals (both in-person and online or over the phone);

• Taking orders and collecting payments, as well making sure that all sales are properly recorded in the appropriate systems;

• Helping promote various deals and guiding customers toward the specific items that are most suitable for their needs;

• Performing basic maintenance and upkeep on rental equipment (including, possibly motorcycles);

• Cleaning and organizing the shop during downtime.

Qualification & Skills

The most important skill you’ll need as our part-time Sales Associate is being able to comfortably and effectively work with customers. We’re looking for someone who is a true “people person” with a customer service mindset. More details below:

• At least 1 year of experience in the service industry (retail, restaurant, etc.)

• Effective communication skills

• Computer proficiency, including point-of-sale system

• Effective communication skills

• Positive attitude

• High school degree (or equivalent)

While not required, a particularly stellar candidate will have their motorcycle endorsement (license), as well as some basic motorcycle maintenance knowledge - including the ability to do oil changes, make minor repairs, change tires, etc.

Hourly Rate & Other Details

For this role, we are offering an hourly rate of $25. As this is a part-time position, you will be working two days a week for a total of 15 to 19 weekly hours (but always less than 20).
