What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barback position at Big Shotz Bar and Grill?
Looking for a professional, competent, and out-going person with great inter-personal and organizational skills. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must have excellent organizational skills, good teamwork skills, and common sense.
The Barback supports Bartenders and Servers. They are responsible for food-running, as well as keeping neat and orderly work stations. They will assist in cleaning the bar, preparing garnishes, rolling silverware, running food, cleaning restrooms, cleaning tables, changing trash bags, restocking supplies. The Barback must be knowledgeable about menu items, attentive, and focused on providing the best possible service in a fast-paced environment.
To be a successful Barback, you should be passionate about working as part of a team to ensure that support is readily available. Must be intuitive about the needs of the Bartender and Server. You should be efficient, reliable, and perceptive with excellent communication and time management skills.
Below you will find a list of duties and requirements for employment:
-Assist with opening and closing duties
-Restock stations with neccesary tools (beer, ice, cups, towels, fruit, etc.)
-Change out empty keg (Roughly 160lbs).
-Work on foot for extended periods of time.
-Carry full trays of food.
-Lift and move tables and chairs.
-Clean with chemicals such as bleach, 409, Windex, beer cleaner, sanitizer, etc.
-Keep stations neat and orderly by wiping down surfaces, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash receptacles, cleaning restrooms, etc.
Further requirements:
-Experience, education, training, and certifications preferred.
-Courteous, friendly personality and professional appearance.
-Wear non-slip grip shoes at all times during your shift.
-Basic math and computer skills.
-Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to handle tense situations with coworkers and customers calmly and rationally.
-Ability to meet physical and scheduling demands of the position, including, walking, standing, or lifting heavy -items for extended periods and working nights, weekends, and holidays.
-Observant and thorough.
-Must have proper modes of transportation or make necessary arrangements.
-Must have proper modes of communication (phone, email, Instagram, etc.) and make every possible effort to be available for communication with management.
-Must work sober and not drink, smoke or partake in any substances, that may inhibit your ability to work.
-Must be responsible and punctual.
