Job Overview
The HR Sr Director of ProGrade, Trailer World and Trailer Central maintains effective and efficient operations of all human resources direction within specified business units. This role provides consultation, support, leadership, and manages all Human Resources functions. Responsible for the development and implementation of Human Resources programs, including employee relations, talent acquisition, training, communications, compensation, and regulatory compliance. In this role, the HR Sr Director will report to HR VP of ATW.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive people strategy that aligns with the overall business unit goals and supports operational and technological functions.
- Manage the overall staffing plan and model, including assessing staffing needs, mitigating understaffing, addressing attrition, and ensuring an effective onboarding and offboarding process.
- Enhance employee engagement through the development of recognition and rewards programs, measurement metrics, and KPIs for performance incentives.
- Drive initiatives to improve recognition practices and create a culture of ongoing education and development.
- Develop initiatives for local community engagement efforts
- Stay plugged in to the business by actively participating in strategic discussions and understanding key priorities and challenges.
- Ensure the HR team is serving as the first line HR business partner for the business units.
- Drive strategic thinking, change management, and process optimization initiatives
- Understand and track key performance measures in high-capacity facilities and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Contribute to the broader ATW HR Department
- Other responsibilities, as assigned
Education – Experience Required
- 7 years related HR management experience in a multi-unit or multi-state environment and a Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
- Strong knowledge of relevant federal and state employment laws
- Proficient computer skills including HRIS, LMS, ATS, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Positive attitude and desire to comply with the ATW culture and core values
- Thrives in a fast paced, performance excellence-based culture
- Change management experience
- Knowledge of payroll and benefits is a plus
- Ability to prioritize, manage projects and handle multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines
- Excellent presentation skills
- The capacity to work with people at all levels
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Ability to travel domestically, up to 35%
