BigBear.ai is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer Lead with expertise in AWS GovCloud to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in the deployment, management, and operation of scalable, highly available AWS infrastructures, with an emphasis on security and compliance within DoD frameworks.The role involves critical responsibilities such as server and service instance creation, networking, software installation, security remediation, and the creation of technical documentation within AWS GovCloud environments.
This position will be based out of Springfield, Virgiana and can be performed fully remote.
Based on the Arcas Computer Vision suite, the candidate will support our government client to develop systems that support Machine Intelligence and provide Computer Vision Model Development. The Arcas system leverages machine learning and artificial intelligence to vastly simplify this view, giving the analyst a picture of the area and what is important, augmenting human intelligence to provide clarity in complex operational environments, so better decisions can happen faster and with more certainty.
What you will do
- Architect and deploy secure and resilient AWS GovCloud infrastructures, focusing on server and service instance creation and configuration
- Conduct software installation and updates within AWS GovCloud environments, ensuring compatibility and security
- Manage complex AWS networking architectures, ensuring strong security postures and optimal performance
- Execute security vulnerability remediation within cloud infrastructures to maintain the highest level of system integrity
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices with AWS CloudFormation for streamlined infrastructure management
- Generate comprehensive technical documentation to capture system designs, configurations, processes, and policies
- Provide hands-on support in IL4 and IL5 environments, adhering to stringent security and compliance requirements
What you need to have
- Clearance: must possess and maintain active Secret level clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology and 5 years of experience, or;
- Associates Degree and 7 years of experience, or;
- Master's Degree and 3 years of experience, or;
- PhD and some professional experience
- (in lieu of Bachelor's degree, 9 years of relevant experience)
- CompTIA Security certification
- AWS certificates such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate and AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate
- 5 years of hands-on experience in the system engineering
- Solid experience with software installations, updates, and security remediation in a cloud environment
- Expertise in creating and maintaining technical documentation for systems and processes
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically AWS CloudFormation
- Extensive knowledge of AWS networking and security services
