What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker position at Biglerville Borough?
Biglerville Borough, Adams County, is seeking applicants for a part-time entry- level position for a maintenance worker reporting to our Sewer/Water operators.
This position is responsible for (but not limited to) performing various activities at the Borough’s Sewer/Water Treatment Plant and within the area of the Biglerville
Borough. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
1. Operating a standard shift vehicle
2. Operating a tractor, weed eater, chainsaw, lawnmower, and other various hand tools and motorized equipment
3. Painting of: a. Curbs b. Fire Hydrants c. Interior and Exterior of Borough buildings d. Tanks e. Interior walls and piping at wells
4. Sign & Banner Installation and Repair
5. Cleaning Storm Drain Inlets
6. Spraying of weeds
7. Assisting others in the repair of machinery and equipment
8. Performing general labor, plumbing, maintenance, and housekeeping duties.
The successful applicant for this position must have basic math skills, can follow instructions and be able to work independently, as well as in conjunction with other Borough personnel. Candidate must have a valid insurable driver’s license.
Be willing to learn. This position will require the successful applicant be able to work outside for extended periods of time, lift up to 75lbs, stand and walk for long periods of time, stoop/bend over to pick up objects, perform repetitive laborious tasks, and safely use various motorized equipment.
