What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental health position at Bil-Jax?
Job Description : Define, lead, and coordinate Health, Safety & Environmental objectives for Haulotte Bil-Jax in the Archbold, Ohio, facility according to international standards (OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001) while following OSHA and customer requirements.
Primary Duties :
- Lead HSE activities with daily presence in workshop and warehouse.
- Identify, analyze, evaluate, and propose mitigation of HSE risks.
- Implement and maintain Waste Management program regarding ISO 14001 & Corporate standards.
- Define, implement, and maintain the HSE Management Plan and review as necessary.
- Determine needs and necessary resources to obtain ISO 45001 / OHSAS 18001 & ISO 45001 certifications and maintain each at every certification cycle.
- Internal Audits, prepare HSE audit plan, and lead HSE Management Review Meetings.
- implement, and maintain EHS and related processes and corresponding procedures.
- Communicate regulatory requirements and changes to division.
- inform upper management on the performance level of the Corporate H&S System (Management Review Consolidation)
- of contact for any OSHA or HSE external audits and regulatory inspections.
- and take care of HSE equipment.
- HSE surveillance and evaluate ergonomic situations concerning workstation lifecycles.
- Risky Situations by identifying hazards and constraints and initiating corresponding CAPAs.
Requirements :
- degree with H&S specialty or equivalent in experience; master’s degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in HSE ISO certification within a manufacturing environment
- average knowledge of OSHA regs and Ohio BWC
- 10- and 30-hour course completion and certification preferred
- general OHSAS 18001 principles.
- knowledge of ISO audit processes and techniques
- to lead a cross functional team, prioritize, set objectives, and execute action plans.
- to write detailed reports, procedures, and work instructions.
