Tow Truck Driver Job Summary
Our company is looking for an experienced Tow Truck Driver to join our fleet. A background in experience loading and unloading a wheel-lift and flatbed is a mandatory. Your primary duties will revolve around removing illegally parked vehicles, assisting disabled motorists with services such as changing their tires or transporting them to a nearby garage, or towing cars that have a parking or other illegal infraction. Our ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills to interact with customers and can manage their time well while on the road.
Tow Truck Driver Duties and Responsibilities
- Remove illegally parked vehicles
- Patrol and respond to calls when dispatched
- Respond to accidents, break-downs, and other roadside incidents
- Stay in contact with motorists when you are en route
- Perform basic repairs or tow their vehicle
- Safely load cars onto the back of your truck
- Keep your truck clean and in good condition
Tow Truck Driver Requirements and Qualifications
- A commercial driver’s license
- CTTA Certificate, AAA OPLD Certificate, TIMs certificate
- Clean Driving Record and pass CHP background
- At least one year of experience in wheel lift and flat bed.
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Basic mechanical skills
- Attention to detail when documenting work
- Physical strength
