Position Description
The EVS Shift Supervisor assists in managing and supervising the Environmental Services (EVS) Department on an assigned shift. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.
Position Requirements
Education/Experience:
- Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in the field of environmental services.
- Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Must be familiar with proper use of all cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Proficient computer skills preferred.
Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
- Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
- Adequate manual dexterity to operate cleaning equipment.
- Occasionally lifts/moves over twenty-five (25) pounds of cleaning equipment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Employee must work with cleaning chemicals, and must be able to properly dilute, use and insure their safety, as well as other who come in contact with chemicals.
- Occasional travel is required.
- Must be able to climb and descend ladders.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
Other:
- Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid Non-Gaming license.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
- Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
- Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
