JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and manage a highly skilled group of Mechanical Engineers and CAD draftsman. More specifically, a qualified technical lead candidate will be involved in:
Providing technical leadership to the ME team through the following:
- Reviewing 3D packaging of complex power converters, energy storage, and PLC systems
- Building of complex power converters, energy storage systems, and PLC systems
- Thermal design of high-performance cold plates, heat exchangers, and systems
- Structural analysis of package components, support structures, and shelving under harsh
environment shock and vibration
- Creation, review, and issuance of prototype and production-level drawings IAW GD&T standards
Leadership and/or managerial experience with a focus on the following:
- Leading a team of 4-8 engineers and draftsmen through research and product development phases
- Providing technical leadership while also pushing the team to meet customer requirements,
schedules, and budgets
- Autonomy to hire new team members and write proposals/bring in new work
- Write and/or review ME-focused patents, whitepapers, and technical conference/journal articles
- Mentoring of junior and other senior engineers
Work with other technical leads and the SVP Engineering to determine the technical and strategic direction of the power system group
Minimum Requirements:
? United States Citizenship required due to US Government ITAR program restrictions
? Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
? BS in electrical engineering, computer science, or related major required, with a minimum 3.3 GPA,
MS and PhDs a plus

Education: Minimum GPA requirement: 3.3 (B ). Transcripts are required for thorough review. The client may consider below 3.3 due to personal issues but will assess coursework strengths. Aim for 3.3 as the minimum.
The following experience is not required, but highly desirable:
? Experience with CREO 3D modeling software
? Experience with FEA and CFD modeling software packages
? Experience designing thermal management systems and/or high-performance cold plates or heat
exchangers.
? Experience with insulation system design
Immediate Requirements/Projects include:
? Packaging of MW scale power converters for naval ship applications.
? Medium Voltage insulation system design for MW scale power converters
? Thermal design of cold plates, heat exchangers, and overall TMS controllers for large energy storage
systems
? E-field, shock, vibration, and thermal modeling in FEA/CFD software
? Navy (surface & sub), Army vehicles and infrastructure, Aircraft
