Travel RN for progressive care unit

Contract Duration – 13 weeks or 26 weeks Contract.
Department /Unit – Travel PCU RN
Schedule: Night 7pm to 7am
Facility location -7101 JAHNKE ROAD, RICHMOND, VA 23225
Need only Traveler RNs -.
local RNs accepted with 50 miles radius rule.
What You Will Do:
Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: PCU nurses perform comprehensive assessments of patients upon admission and throughout their stay in the unit. This includes assessing vital signs, cardiac rhythm, respiratory status, neurological function, and overall clinical condition.
- Monitoring: PCU nurses continuously monitor patients' vital signs and telemetry readings, recognizing and responding to any changes or abnormalities promptly. They also monitor for signs of deterioration or complications, such as changes in mental status or sudden changes in vital signs.
- Medication Administration: PCU nurses administer medications, including intravenous medications, oral medications, and titrated infusions, according to physician orders and established protocols. They ensure accurate dosing, monitor for adverse reactions, and educate patients about their medications.
- Telemetry Interpretation: PCU nurses are proficient in interpreting cardiac rhythms and telemetry monitoring data. They recognize arrhythmias, ischemia, and other cardiac abnormalities, intervening as necessary to stabilize patients and prevent cardiac complications.
- Respiratory Support: PCU nurses provide respiratory support to patients who require supplemental oxygen, nebulizer treatments, or non-invasive ventilation. They assess respiratory status, monitor oxygen saturation levels, and intervene to optimize oxygenation and ventilation.
- Wound Care: PCU nurses assess and care for wounds, surgical incisions, and pressure ulcers. They perform wound assessments, initiate appropriate wound care protocols, and monitor for signs of infection or delayed healing
What You Will Need:
BLS Obtained from American Heart Association (AHA)
ACLS Obtained from American Heart Association (AHA)
RN license
