The Buyer manages the flow of parts to ensure materials are available on time and at the right quality for production. This position will have the means and opportunity to increase profit by making proactive decisions in an efficient and cost-effective manner. - PLAN AND BUY RAW MATERIALS AND PACKAGING
- Negotiate prices and terms
- Maintain inventory levels at established targets.
- Establish and maintain preferred suppliers
- Monitor and communicate market conditions that affect the supply chain
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- KNOWLEDGE OF FDA REQUIREMENTS FOR MANUFACTURING OF A CLASS I OR CLASS II MEDICAL DEVICE.
- FAMILIARITY WITH VENDOR PARTNERING, SUPPLIER CERTIFICATION AND DEVELOPMENT PROCESS AND LEAD TIME REDUCTION.
- FAMILIARITY WITH QUALITY PROGRAMS AND PROCESSES.
- EXCELLENT VERBAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS, LOGICAL AND ANALYTICAL THINKING, WORK INDEPENDENTLY AND, ON A TEAM, AND THE ABILITY TO LEARN, TROUBLESHOOT AND PROBLEM SOLVE.
- ABILITY TO OPERATE, MULTI-TASK AND SHIFT PRIORITIES IN A HIGH PACED ENVIRONMENT.
- BACHELORS DEGREE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION OR RELATED FIELD AND/OR 10 YEARS PURCHASING AND MATERIALS CONTROL EXPERIENCE IN A MEDICAL DEVICE, PHARMACEUTICAL OR OTC MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT
