Strategic Procurement Specialist

Bio-Rad is looking for a Strategic Procurement Specialist. As part of the Global Commodity Management Group, this position will assume a lead role for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for labwares including primary packaging materials in the North America and APAC. This may include various types of plastic and glass bottles, tubes, vials and other components. The successful candidate will collaborate with Global Commodity Management in developing commodity strategies based on existing and future spend, demand, supply challenges, and marketplace conditions, ensuring alignment with the business and project objectives. The role will lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams to ensure Bio-Rad is leveraging spend, driving best value and improving overall supplier performance. This position requires 25% international and domestic travel.

The day starts with a smile and greeting the colleagues. With new supply chain challenges, the today will be different from yesterday. While addressing any business challenges at one of our North American manufacturing sites, you will also learn how the supply markets are doing and the suppliers servicing those markets. Your focus will shift next to reviewing your category strategy and what are the next steps to advance it. Your analytics, marketing, customer service and negotiations skills will be highlighted and continue throughout the day.

What You Bring: 

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Procurement or Supply Chain Management, or related discipline. MBA preferred. 
• Work Experience: 6 years’ experience in Procurement with at least 2 years in Supply Assurance Buying and 2 years in Demand Buying, Materials Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Act as a leader and project manager for various supply chain initiatives, RFP's and supply optimization projects. 
• Procurement: Strategic category management
• Supplier Development and Supplier Management experience
• Contract Management/Negotiations experience
• Data Analytics experience

Location:  Preferred work location is to be at the company headquarters in Hercules, CA. However, we are willing to consider alternate company office locations: Irvine, CA, Woodinville, WA, Boulder, CO or Ann Arbor, MI.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $89,300 to $122,800 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
