The European headquarters is based in Abingdon, UK with a manufacturing facility in Bristol and subsidiaries in Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic.
Position Summary
The Financial Accountant is a key contributor in the preparation of month end accounts and statutory reporting for Bio-Techne’s European operations and entities. Working as part of a team the ideal candidate will ensure the company is able to report group results within agreed timescales. This role would be ideally suited to a newly qualified accountant, or candidate completing their final level of training. The Financial Accountant is a key position in Bio-Techne’s Finance function for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region and reports directly to the Financial Accounting Manager, commencing as soon as possible. This is a hybrid role on site in our Abingdon office a minimum of three days per week.
Essential Functions
Key contributor to delivery of the month end close process and management accounts, including twelve legal entities across multiple countries.
Variance analysis and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Supporting Group & Company Statutory requirements including HMRC filing, statutory and VAT returns.
Liaise with local accountants in all EMEA subsidiaries to support statutory requirements including relevant tax filings, statutory accounts, and VAT returns.
Responsible for SOX controls for all in scope EMEA entities. Liaising with the US Corporate Accounting team.
Play a key role in year end and interim EMEA group audit in support of the US audit with external auditors.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/ICAS)
Skills required/desired:
Strong accounting background
Knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP
Excellent IT skills, including advanced level Microsoft Excel
Experience working with ERP systems.
