As a Medical Assistant at BioAge Health, you will be a key team member for managing the patient flow between the front desk and back offices. You will be responsible for assisting the clinician(s) with patient care including drawing labs, documenting care provided during the appointment, and having thorough knowledge of the treatments to educate patients on post-procedure follow-up. Other responsibilities include sterilization of equipment, handling specimens, front-end office support answering phones, scheduling appointments and collecting payments. This is a part time position, 24 to 32 hours weekly with a flexible schedule. Clinic hours are 0900-1700, Monday through Friday, scheduled shifts are variable to the clinic procedure schedules.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program, Phlebotomy experience, Medical Back Office/Medical Assistant experience, Aesthetics experience, EMR Systems for patient scheduling, documentation and patient payments.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent communication skills; Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy; Good problem-solving and analytical skills; Ability to work as a team member; Well-organized with attention to detail; Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; Empathetic with patient concerns and handle them appropriately; Proven ability to engage with upscale clientele and maintain high standards in patient care; Ability to work well with physicians, nurse injectors, and physician assistants, anticipating their needs in regard to patient treatment
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide concierge-level service and be highly responsive to all patient needs. Set up exam room according to scheduled procedure. Proactively review clinician’s schedule and anticipate daily needs. Greet patients, escort patients to treatment rooms and obtain pertinent medical information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit. Counsel patients by obtaining questions about procedures. Assist clinician(s) by preparing the patient for treatment including, but not limited to, cleansing, numbing, and taking before and after photos, etc. Perform blood draws using proper sterile technique. Educate patient following clinician recommended treatment plan. Ensure the patient understands his/her treatment plan, proper skincare routine and understands responsibility for patient compliance. Develop strong patient rapport to educate patient on benefits of additional services and products offered by the clinic. Ensure all charting and patient documentation is completed following patient visits. Support front end operations including calling patients to follow up on treatments. Accurate and timely notifications to clinician(s) of any patient concerns or complications. Thoroughly clean exam rooms before and after patient visits. Perform all duties related to medical instrument cleaning and sterilization. Stock all exam rooms and perform inventory management. Serves and protects the clinical practices of BioAge Health by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, and enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
