JOB SUMMARY:

This position supports the Contracts team for contractual legal matters of the Company. The position will be responsible for working with internal business partners on a wide range of contractual matters, organizing and maintaining the legal and corporate documents for the company, and will also provide support, as needed, for any dispute resolution and litigation matters. The position requires attention to detail, organization and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced growing legal department.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Helps coordinate contract requests in an efficient manner and assists in assessment of business partner’s needs with such requests.
  • Assists with monitoring strategic corporate transactions, by managing and preparing documents for wide range of contractual arrangements through execution.
  • Assists in the preparation of documents for organization in the legal document database and file as appropriate.
  • Provide analysis of, and input on, BioCryst’s contract and agreement procedures in order to develop a more effective process
  • Prepare, analyze, and negotiate vendor contracts; with a focus on confidentiality agreement, consulting agreement, amendments and SOWs
  • Identify and escalate potential issues identified in management of assigned agreements
  • Comply with Company's policies and procedures
  • Edit and review standard agreements
  • Strives to improve processes to contribute to the company’s growth.
  • All other duties as assigned.


EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree, certified paralegal highly preferred.
  • 2 years of company corporate paralegal experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Public company and in-house experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service approach.
  • Must be detail-oriented and eager to learn, ability to prioritize and be extremely responsive.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
